A fundraising data room investors can actually be tracked in
Most founders start a raise with a Google Drive folder and a prayer. It works until the second partner meeting, when you cannot say who opened the model, whether the deck was forwarded, or which fund is still reading at midnight. An XDocs data room puts the deck, the model, the cap table and the customer list behind one set of gates: email verification so every reader is a named person, an NDA they accept before the first page, a watermark with their address on every view and download. Reading is measured section by section and only while the tab is active, so a fund that spent eleven minutes on the financials is distinguishable from one that opened the deck and left. The room has its own logo and colours, and a custom domain if you want one, so it looks like yours rather than ours.

The paperwork of a young company is repetitive and unforgiving: the same SAFE for twelve angels, the same NDA for every serious conversation, an offer letter for each hire. Each template in XDocs is a real document with its parties and signature blocks wired in, so you change the name and the number and send. Signing happens in the browser with nothing for the other side to install or create an account for. Sending freezes a snapshot, so a later edit to the template can never change what somebody agreed to, and every completed agreement comes back as a PDF with a certificate of completion, recorded consent and SHA-256 digests anybody can verify. US ESIGN and UETA are implemented in full; eIDAS qualified signatures are not yet offered.
One workspace instead of five subscriptions
A typical seed-stage stack is a document editor, an e-signature service, a link-tracking tool for the deck, a data-room product for diligence and a chat tool to ask questions of all of them. Each is a login, a monthly fee and a place a document can be the wrong version. Ask what is outstanding and the assistant reads the actual envelopes and links: the SAFE two angels have not signed, the NDA that was opened but not completed, the fund that stopped reading at the cap table. It drafts the reminder in your words and sends nothing until you approve it in the chat. Every action it takes is logged with an undo, and anything that leaves the workspace — a send, a reminder, a published link — waits for a human click. It also drafts from a prompt, summarises an incoming agreement with the clause it read, and compares any two versions, which is most of what a founder without a lawyer on staff needs between rounds.
